I got in at the beach next to the pier, waded out and descended once it was deep enough.

I swam under the pier along the net and the followed the net around to the right, swimming between the old and new nets. After not seeing anything of interest I swam out on the sand and made my way back to the pier.

Back at the pier the visibility was nearly 5 metres. I guess that is the benefit of getting in early before any other divers.

I swam under the pier from side to side moving a bit deeper with each pass. I mustn't have had my eyes in as I saw very little other than a lot of octopus, cuttlefish and the occasional nudibranch.

When I reached the end of the pier I swam south-east into deeper water hoping to find the black angler I'd seen last time but I didn't find it. I turned and swam back to the pier.

I gradually made my way back up the slope, again swimming across under the pier. It wasn't long before I encountered a couple of other divers who were kicking up the sand so that the viz dropped to less that's metre.

I quickly moved past them to clearer water - which was around 10 metres further up the slope. As I got to cleared water I saw another diver coming down the slope photographing an ornate ghostpipefish. I waited by and we took turns in taking some photos of it.

Once I'd finished with the ghostpipefish, I followed the pier up the slope and then back to the beach where I got out.
